The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has introduced “Operation Go Cashless,” a new contactless and cashless payment initiative in partnership with Paystack.
This system aims to modernize transactions at airports, starting with Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
From September 29, 2025, all payments at key revenue points—including access gates, car parks, VIP lounges, and protocol services—will shift to cashless methods, eliminating cash collections entirely.
Travelers can expect quicker, more secure services through contactless options, reducing wait times and enhancing overall efficiency.
FAAN highlighted that this move addresses the rising need for safe, transparent digital payments, aligning Nigerian airports with international standards. By minimizing cash handling, the agency seeks to boost revenue tracking and improve user satisfaction.
To support the transition, trained ambassadors are stationed at gates and terminals to help with onboarding and demos. Users should pick up a FAAN Go Cashless Card at any access gate in Lagos or Abuja, then activate and load it via
