Detty December: The Corporates Supporting Holiday Fun

Christmas is coming. No more manager’s deadlines, no more clients’ meetings. Lagos is full of music and parties – Detty December according to Nigerian millennials. Ticket prices range between ₦5,000 and ₦500,000. Brands such as Pepsi, the company that brought you Cardi B, have helped made Detty December a reality, investing heavily in connecting their customers to popular artistes. Access Bank paid Burna Boy ₦25million and Naira Marley ₦20million to perform at the Access Bank Born in Africa Festival (BAFEST).

Here is a list of Detty December concerts and the corporates who brought them to you. This is also a traffic guide in case you are not participating in Detty December i.e. your December is clean, as the millennials would say. Use your Google Maps to avoid routes around the concerts.

Cardi B in Eko Atlantic, brought to you by Pepsi

 Made in Lagos Festival by Olamide

Despite no album launch this year, Olamide would be giving his fans a thrill on the 23rd of December at the Olamide Live in Concert show at Eko Atlantic Energy City. Tickets are available on Ariya tickets with Regular going for N5, 000. The show is sponsored by FIRS and GTBank.

Flytime Music Festival:

 

Flytime promotions hosted this year’s Rhythm Unplugged, and featured A-list musicians in Nigeria. The five-day festival kicked off on the 20th of December at the Eko Convention Centre with a performance from Jamaican Reggae singer, Koffee, the second day featured American R&B singer, Boyz II Men while the third day was headlined by American rapper, Megan Thee Stallion. On the 23rd of December, Tiwa Savage’s fans would be treated to an unforgettable experience as she would be headlining on day four. Nigeria’s biggest act and Grammy-nominated singer, Burna Boy would wrap up the festival on Christmas day. Tickets are available here. The festival is sponsored by Pepsi.

Bez Live:

The annual Bez Live electric musical concert would hold on the 24th of December at the Muri Okunola Park. Tickets are available on Nairabox for as low as N5, 000 to N25, 000. Sponsors for the show include Sterling Bank, LASAA, Jagermeister, Schweppesng, etc.

Burna Live:

Afro-fusion sensation, Burna Boy would be holding his concert at the Eko Convention Centre on the 26th of December.

Kizz Daniel Live in Concert:

Kizz Daniel is ready to end the year in a great way for his fans with his musical concert happening live at the Eko Convention Centre on the 26th of December. Tickets are available on Nairabox from N15,000 to N5,000.

Star Boy Fest:

Wizkid’s annual concert is going to take place at the Eko Energy City on Boxing Day. Tickets are available at tix.ng with regular going for N5,000. Sponsors of the fest include Pepsi, MTV Base, Business Day, DSTV, etc.

A Good Time with Davido:

Davido is set to shut down the city of Lagos as he announces the date for his music concert which promises to be an epic experience.  The concert would hold on Friday, 27th of December at the Energy City Eko Atlantic. The show is sponsored by Infinix, Hennessy, Glo, etc. Tickets are available here.

2Baba Live:

Music icon, 2Baba would be celebrating 20 years in the music industry with his live concert themed, “20 years a King”, which would be holding at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island on the 28th of December. Tickets are available on Nairabox from N10, 000. Mastercard and Nairabox are sponsors of the show.

Future Live Concert:

American rapper, Future is set to thrill fans with a stellar performance at his first headline concert in Nigeria on the 29th of December at the Eko Convention Centre, VI. The concert is organized by Toro Entertainment Company and tickets are available on Nairabox. The show is proudly sponsored by First Bank.

Marlian Fest:

True Marlians should get ready for the debut of Naira Marley’s concert happening this December at the Eko Convention Centre. Tickets are available from N5, 000. Pentagon is a sponsor for the show.

The Mayor of Lagos Fest:

Mayorkun’s concert, Mayor of Lagos Fest, held at the Muri Okunola Park in VI, on the 14th of December. The show was sponsored by Hennessy, Budweiser, Bolt, MTVBase, TRACE, UduX, etc

King Coal in Concert:

Wande Coal held his concert, King Coal in Concert at the Eko Convention Centre on the 14th of December. Sponsors of the show were DSTV, Africa Magic, LASAA, Multichoice, MTVBase, etc.

Major Lazer:

International DJ group, Major Lazer, while touring the African continent made a stop in Nigeria and thrilled fans to a night of beautiful music on the 15th of December. The concert was organized by the Island Blockparty Festivals of Light. Sponsors of the event were Pepsi, Jameson, MTVBase, The Plug, etc.

BAFEST by Access Bank:

The festival, organized by Access Bank was a one-day event showcasing Africa’s talent and creativity in music, film, fashion and art. Artists that performed at the festival include Burna Boy, Flavour, Tiwa Savage, Teni, Patoranking, Niniola, Seyi Shay, Joe boy, Becca, Mr. Real, 9ice, Ice Prince, DJ Big N, DJ Spinall, DJ Crowd Kontroller, DJ Deluxe, Shody, Dotun and Naira Marley, etc.

Party of your Dreams by DJ Spinall:

DJ Spinall hosted his fans to a high-energy experience with performances from Jimmy Jatt, DJ Neptune, Cuppy, consequence and other acts, on the 15th of December at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, VI. Pepsi was a major sponsor of the show.

Teni Live in Concert:

Teni the Entertainer invited members of the billionaire gang to her musical concert at the Eko Convention Centre on the 16th of December. The show was sponsored by Bet9ja, Pepsi, Quickteller, ALAT, Max.ng, Tecno, etc.

Vibe of the Year by DJ Consequence:



 DJ Consequence ended the year with a house party with lots of celebrities in attendance on the 17th of December at the Aqua Pool Club. The party was sponsored by Hennessy.

Zlatan Live:

Zlatan held his debut concert on the 18th of December at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace, VI. The show was sponsored by Hennessy, Mastercard, Bolt, Goldberg, etc.
