COVID-19: Timetables & Strategies to End Lockdown

As the world plans to enter the fifth month of coronavirus pandemic with no vaccine or end in sight, governments are already devising measures for lockdown exit. COVID-19 pandemic has affected more than 200 countries and territories around the world, with over 2.2 million confirmed cases and more than 150,000 deaths. A recent model cited by the White House predicts the pandemic may ‘fade away’ next month, but experts doubt the assumption.

The World Health Organization (WHO) says more than 60 candidate vaccines are now in the development stage. Several are at early clinical trials. Not to taking chances in persistent lockdown, countries are already looking ahead for an exit plan and re-opening of economies. US President Donald Trump said normal activities will gradually return in places seeing a decrease in COVID-19 cases
