Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has leveled serious accusations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, branding him corrupt and an abuser of women.
In a recent interview on Arise TV, Atiku claimed that Akpabio’s misconduct was evident during his tenure as governor under Atiku’s vice-presidential government.
He stated, “I know the leadership is corrupt, no apologies about that,” adding that Akpabio’s actions went beyond financial corruption to include habitual abuse of women, based on reports he received at the time.

Atiku also slammed the National Assembly, led by Akpabio, for approving President Bola Tinubu’s state of emergency in Rivers State, declared on March 18, 2025.
He called the move politically motivated and an abuse of power, asserting that it reflected the corrupt nature of the leadership. Demanding immediate action, Atiku insisted on the reinstatement of the suspended Governor, Deputy Governor, and State Assembly members in Rivers State.
