The African Medical Center of Excellence (AMCE) is hiring a Regional Business Development Officer – Lagos & Western Nigeria to drive referral growth, strategic partnerships, and market expansion across Lagos and Western Nigeria.
The Regional Business Development Officer will execute AMCE’s regional sales strategy by developing high-value referral networks, strengthening relationships with clinicians and healthcare institutions, and delivering measurable growth across the region.
The role will support AMCE’s Centres of Excellence and non-communicable disease (NCD) agenda by expanding its network of referring healthcare providers across Western Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Sales Execution – Lagos & Western Nigeria
- Develop and execute a strategic territory plan covering Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti.
- Identify, prospect, and onboard new referring partners, including private hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, and key consultants.
- Conduct strategic sales engagements through virtual outreach and planned in-person visits.
- Present AMCE’s services to prospective partners and negotiate referral partnerships.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly targets for new partner acquisition and referral volumes across the territory.
Relationship & Partnership Development
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with healthcare providers while respecting regional business practices and protocols.
- Serve as AMCE’s primary business development representative across Western Nigeria.
- Identify and engage influential medical professionals, clinic owners, consultants, and hospital administrators.
- Coordinate effectively with AMCE’s clinical and commercial teams to ensure smooth patient referrals and partner support.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing referral partners and identify opportunities for further collaboration.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Monitor competitors, healthcare trends, market developments, and referral opportunities across Western Nigeria.
- Prepare weekly activity reports, pipeline forecasts, and regional market intelligence reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of partner engagements, leads, opportunities, and activities in the company’s CRM.
- Use market insights to identify new business opportunities and improve territory performance.
Remote Work & Travel Management
- Effectively balance remote administrative responsibilities with scheduled field visits across the territory.
- Plan and manage regular travel to key cities and healthcare hubs across Western Nigeria.
- Maintain consistent communication with partners and internal teams between field visits.
- Work independently while participating in mandatory virtual check-ins and team meetings.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven B2B field sales experience.
- Mandatory: Previous experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical services, or a related sector within Western Nigeria.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets across a multi-location territory.
- Non-negotiable: Must be based in Lagos and have an established network of, or proven experience engaging, healthcare providers across Western Nigeria.
Skills & Competencies
- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent ability to engage confidently with clinic owners, senior consultants, hospital administrators, and other healthcare decision-makers.
- Regional Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, key players, and business practices across Western Nigeria.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with clinical, commercial, and administrative teams.
- Technology: Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms, and other relevant business tools.
- Independence: Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a remote and field-based environment.
- Resilience & Results Orientation: Persistent, commercially driven approach to prospecting, relationship building, and closing business opportunities.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness to undertake frequent local travel within Lagos and occasional travel to other states in Western Nigeria.
- Integrity: High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical conduct appropriate for the healthcare sector.
Working Conditions & Remuneration
- Work Mode: Remote and field-based, with the successful candidate required to be based in Lagos and maintain a professional home-office setup.
- Schedule: Flexible working hours based on partner availability, with mandatory weekly virtual check-ins and team meetings.
- Travel: Extensive local travel within Lagos is required, with occasional travel to other states across Western Nigeria.
- Remuneration: Competitive package comprising a fixed base salary plus significant performance-based commission. Commission is directly tied to the achievement of agreed sales targets for the territory.
