The Nigeria Immigration Service has asked Nigerians in the United Kingdom who are still waiting for passports processed through the Contactless Passport Application system to submit their details for resolution.
The Service made the request on Sunday, September 6, 2026, as it works to address complaints involving delayed passport deliveries.
NIS opens resolution form for affected applicants
According to the NIS, Nigerians who completed their contactless passport applications but have not received their passports should fill out a Passport Application Resolution Form.
The form requires applicants to provide information including their full names, contact details, application and reference numbers, as well as their current location in the UK.
Applicants are also expected to state whether they submitted a self-addressed envelope alongside their old passports to the Nigerian High Commission.
They are further asked to indicate whether they have tracked their passport applications.
The NIS said the information would help it identify and resolve outstanding cases.
Complaints to be reviewed after three working days
The Immigration Service said submissions made through the resolution form would be collated and reviewed three working days after they are received.
The move comes amid efforts by the Nigerian authorities to tackle passport-related challenges affecting Nigerians living in the UK.
The NIS has also announced a special passport intervention exercise in four UK cities.
NIS deploys passport intervention team to four UK cities
The intervention exercise is scheduled to take place in London and Manchester from September 7 to 19, while officials will visit Aberdeen and Cardiff from September 21 to 26.
The exercise is expected to assist Nigerians with new passport applications, renewals and unresolved applications.
The Service had advised applicants seeking new passports or renewals to complete their applications and make the required payments through the official NIS Passport Application portal before attending the intervention exercise.
The latest resolution process is therefore aimed at applicants who have already completed the contactless application process but are still waiting to receive their passports.
