The African Guarantee Fund (AGF) West Africa is inviting applications for the position of Risk Analyst – Recovery and Compliance – Bilingual in Lomé, Togo. The role is suited to legal and risk professionals with experience in debt recovery, banking litigation, disputed receivables, compliance, and regulatory matters within the OHADA and UMOA regions.
Risk Analyst – Recovery and Compliance Job Overview
AGF West Africa S.A. is a guarantee fund operating under the authorization of the UEMOA Banking Commission as a banking-type financial institution. Based in Lomé, Togo, the organization supports access to finance for private enterprises across West Africa through the provision of financial guarantees.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Risk Management and Compliance and will primarily be responsible for monitoring and optimizing the recovery of non-performing receivables. The position also supports compliance management and regulatory monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
The Risk Analyst will contribute to the management of recovery activities, including pre-litigation and litigation matters.
Key duties include:
- Developing, monitoring, and updating recovery policies and procedures.
- Managing operational risks associated with recovery activities.
- Assessing clients’ solvency, recovery prospects, and credit risks.
- Analyzing securities, guarantees, and recovery mechanisms under OHADA law.
- Recommending appropriate recovery actions to reduce uncollectible debts.
- Supporting amicable, pre-litigation, and judicial recovery processes.
- Conducting second-level controls on recovery reports submitted by partner financial institutions.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of commission recovery.
- Following up on cases handled by lawyers, legal intermediaries, and external service providers.
- Preparing reports on recovery management activities.
- Assisting the Compliance function with assigned responsibilities.
- Supporting updates to compliance policies and procedures.
- Contributing to regulatory monitoring, compliance controls, and regulatory reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have a minimum Master’s degree (Bac +5) in Business Law, Banking Law, or another equivalent legal discipline.
Candidates should also have:
- At least 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in recovery, banking litigation, disputed receivables, or the legal department of a bank, financial institution, law firm, or related legal practice.
- Strong knowledge of amicable and judicial recovery procedures.
- Solid knowledge of securities law and enforcement procedures within the OHADA region.
- Experience analyzing legal documents, contracts, guarantees, and court decisions.
- Knowledge of recovery regulations, OHADA requirements, BCEAO banking regulations, and applicable UMOA rules.
- Excellent command of English and French.
- Good knowledge of guarantee and banking products.
- Strong reporting, organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Certification in AML/CFT/CFP, governance, or ethics will be considered an advantage.

AGF West Africa is also seeking someone with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, diplomacy, negotiation abilities, and the capacity to handle sensitive situations effectively.
