The Coronation Infrastructure Fund (CIF) has launched its Series II Offer to raise up to N20 billion under its N200 billion Shelf Programme, expanding its capacity to finance critical infrastructure projects across Nigeria’s key economic sectors.
The closed-end infrastructure debt fund, managed by Coronation Asset Management Limited, provides investors with exposure to a diversified portfolio of infrastructure debt investments spanning transportation, real estate, utilities, social infrastructure, telecommunications and energy.
The new capital raise comes as Nigeria continues to face a significant infrastructure financing gap, with institutional investors increasingly being encouraged to channel long-term capital into projects that can support economic development while generating sustainable returns.
The fund currently manages more than N9.2 billion in assets and upon successful completion of the Series II Offer, assets under management are expected to exceed N30 billion, providing additional lending capacity for a growing pipeline of eligible infrastructure projects.
According to the fund manager, the proceeds will be deployed into carefully selected creditworthy infrastructure assets that satisfy the fund’s investment criteria and risk management framework. The strategy is designed to provide investors with stable, risk-adjusted returns while supporting projects that contribute to Nigeria’s long-term economic growth.
The Series II Offer also reflects growing interest in infrastructure debt as an alternative investment class, particularly among institutional and long-term investors seeking predictable income streams that are less correlated with traditional equity markets.
Beyond financial returns, the fund aims to support the development of essential infrastructure across sectors that are critical to Nigeria’s economic productivity, including transport networks, power and utilities, telecommunications, housing-related infrastructure and other social assets.
