Coca Cola has promoted Yusuf Murtala to the role of Senior Marketing Director, Stills, covering juice and water categories across Africa.
The promotion expands his responsibilities from the Nigerian market to a Pan-African marketing portfolio.
In his new role, Murtala would lead marketing strategy across Coca-Cola’s still beverage portfolio in African markets, including juice and water categories.

Seasoned Marketing Professional
Murtala has spent close to eight years at Coca-Cola, in several marketing positions including roles as Creative and Content Marketing Manager, Senior Marketing Manager, Marketing Director and Senior Marketing Director for Nigeria.
He has over 12 years of cumulative experience in brand management, category marketing, and data analytics, primarily within the FMCG and beverages sectors in Nigeria.
Before his latest promotion, he served as Senior Marketing Director, Nigeria at Coca Cola having served as the company’s Senior Marketing Manager, Nigeria between 2021 and 2022).
He has also served as Coca Cola’s Creative and Content Marketing Manager for its West Africa Business Unit where he led local adaptation of Coca-Cola’s post-COVID “Open Like Never Before” campaign.
Prior to joining Coca Cola, he was Category Marketing Manager – Drinks (Lucozade & Ribena) & Data Analytics Lead, Nigeria at Suntory Holdings Limited as well as Group Product Manager – Oral HealthCare & Data Analytics Lead, Nigeria at GSK l
He also had a stint at Heineken Nigeria as Brand Manager and at Procter & Gamble as Brand Operations Integration Manager.
In his new role, he is expected to lead Coca Cola ‘s Juice and Water Brand’s growth across Africa whilst trying to replicate his success with Coca Cola Nigeria at the Continental level.
