2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi has stated he might not be alive when the 2027 elections come around due to government attacks.

Obi stated this in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo on the With Chude podcast.

Speaking on the persecution he constantly receives, Obi said “The way they are going now, truly, I might not even be alive. I’m telling you. Every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating me.

“Deliberately so. Everything. So there’s even possibility if they have opportunity, I will not be alive.”

He further reiterated the government was attacking every member of the opposition in the buildup to the 2027 general elections stating “Because you do things that you think will be normal, it is not normal any longer.

“They will come directly and say, oh we’re doing this, but you could see their hand in virtually everything attacking everybody who is in the opposition”

Recounting his personal experience, he noted a recent case in the airport where his car was grounded for parking in the same space as everyone else.

“I have seen people I know refuse to greet me at the airport because they are afraid that if they greet me, They become targets of the government.” He continued.

He further noted his mission was to bring back unity amongst Nigerians stating “We have divided the country, breeding hatred among us. That’s why I keep saying I want to bring back unity where there’s division.

“I want to show love, compassion, care.” Mr. Peter Obi concluded.
