Ogefere most recently served as Head of Legal at PZ Cussons Nigeria

PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Ms. Oghenekevwe Ogefere as its new Company Secretary, effective July 1, 2026.

The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on June 30, 2026, following the expiration of the engagement of Alsec Nominees Limited, which had served as Company Secretary.

In a statement, the company expressed appreciation to Alsec Nominees Limited for its contributions during its tenure.

“The Board recognises and appreciates Alsec Nominees Limited for its dedicated service, professionalism, and valuable contributions to the Company during its tenure as Company Secretary, and wishes the firm continued success in its future endeavours,” the company said.

Ogefere most recently served as Head of Legal at PZ Cussons Nigeria and has over 13 years of experience spanning legal practice, corporate governance, company secretarial services, regulatory affairs, and compliance.

Before joining PZ Cussons Nigeria, she served as Senior Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Manager as well as Data Protection Officer at Nigerian Breweries Plc, where she led regulatory compliance initiatives, managed company secretarial functions, and oversaw data privacy programmes in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Earlier in her career, she held senior legal positions at Funtay Global Resources Ltd, Tako E&P Ltd, Funtay Marine & Logistics Ltd, and Funtay Group, where she advised on corporate governance, anti-money laundering compliance, contract negotiation, and regulatory matters.

Academically, Ogefere holds a Master’s degree in Banking, Corporate, Finance and Securities Law from the University of London, completed between 2023 and 2025. She also earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Benin and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN).

She is also a member of the Nigerian Bar and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria
