Oghale Joseph Elueni has been appointed to the Board of Directors of PZ Cussons as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer representing a promotion from his previous role as Managing Director of the Company’s Consumer business.

He has been with the Company since 2021. Before joining the Company, he held senior leadership roles at SC Johnson and Procter & Gamble across Africa and the United States.

Oghale Joseph Elueni is a seasoned consumer goods executive with more than two decades of leadership experience across Africa, North America, and global markets. He currently serves as Managing Director, Africa at PZ Cussons, a position he has held since July 2021. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, profit and loss performance, revenue growth, market share expansion, cash flow objectives, organizational health, and employee engagement across key African markets including Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Libya, and Tanzania. He is also a member of the company’s Global Executive Committee, contributing to enterprise-wide strategic decisions.

Before joining PZ Cussons, Elueni spent nearly a decade with SC Johnson, where he held senior leadership roles across Sub-Saharan Africa. As General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, he oversaw end-to-end P&L performance for the continent, driving sustainable growth and market share gains across priority markets such as South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ethiopia. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director, West Africa, where he led business operations across Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and Senegal, integrating functional strategies into comprehensive market plans, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and delivering financial and market share objectives.

Procter & Gamble Background

Earlier in his career, Elueni spent over 13 years at Procter & Gamble, where he held a succession of increasingly senior commercial and strategic leadership positions. As Country Sales Manager for Sub-Saharan African Expansion Markets, based in Nairobi, he managed sales, market share, trade spending effectiveness, and distributor partnerships across several African countries, including Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, and Gabon. He was instrumental in strengthening go-to-market capabilities and executing distributor transitions in key markets.

His international experience also includes serving as Global Business Development Manager on the Walmart International Team in the United States, where he managed one of P&G’s most important global customer relationships. In this role, he led innovation launches across 27 countries, delivered multimillion-dollar sales growth initiatives, coordinated international category expansion programs, and helped develop commercial and social-impact initiatives across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Prior to his global assignment, Elueni served as Head of Market Strategy and Planning for West Africa, overseeing brand initiatives and trade strategies across 23 countries. He led major retail trade redesign programs, market expansion initiatives, and go-to-market innovations that significantly accelerated sales growth and market penetration throughout the region.

His earlier leadership roles at P&G included Distributor Operations Team Leader and Distribution Extension Manager for West Africa, where he pioneered rural distribution expansion strategies that dramatically increased the company’s reach across Nigeria and Ghana. He recruited and developed hundreds of local distribution partners, expanded retail coverage to millions of additional consumers, and created hundreds of jobs through entrepreneurial distribution networks. Several of these initiatives received recognition as best-in-class programs within P&G’s Central Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Elueni began his leadership journey with P&G as Regional Sales Manager for South Nigeria and earlier as Key Account Manager covering West and Central Nigeria. In these roles, he built a reputation for strong commercial execution, distributor capability development, financial management, and sales leadership, earning recognition for leading one of the company’s best-performing regions in West Africa.
