FanMilk Nigeria has appointed Oreoluwa Mobolaji Atinmo as its new Managing Director, marking a historic milestone as she becomes the first woman to lead the dairy and frozen foods company since its establishment in Nigeria.
The appointment, effective April 1, 2026, comes as FanMilk seeks to strengthen its market leadership through deeper consumer engagement, expanded route-to-market capabilities and continued product innovation in one of Africa’s most competitive fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) markets.
The company described Atinmo’s appointment as part of its commitment to developing local leadership while advancing diversity and inclusion across its business.

A Career Spanning Engineering, Beer and Food
Atinmo’s career reflects an uncommon progression through engineering, manufacturing and consumer marketing before reaching executive leadership.
She began her professional career at Shell plc as a graduate engineer before completing a consulting assignment at BP on production modelling related to the Macondo field following the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
She subsequently joined The HEINEKEN Company, where she spent more than eight years across engineering, operations and commercial leadership.
Her early years at HEINEKEN included serving as one of the company’s first female engineers in Nigeria, managing multi-million-dollar automation and manufacturing projects before transitioning into brand management.
As Brand Manager, she helped introduce premium international brands including Tiger Lager and Stella Artois into the Nigerian market while overseeing Strongbow cider’s expansion.
The move demonstrated an ability to bridge technical expertise with commercial execution—an increasingly valuable capability within global consumer goods companies.
Building Brands Across Africa
In 2020, Atinmo joined GBfoods, where her responsibilities expanded beyond Nigeria.
After leading the company’s Taste Enhancers category in Nigeria, she relocated to Ghana as Regional Category Manager for Africa, overseeing strategy across approximately 20 countries.
Her work included developing long-term category growth plans, leading consumer-driven innovation, improving profitability through value engineering and coordinating cross-market product development across multiple African business units.
Among the notable commercial initiatives during this period was the optimisation of seasoning cube formats in Nigeria, which improved gross margins while maintaining market competitiveness.
Marketing Leadership
Returning to Nigeria as Marketing Director in late 2023, Atinmo led one of GBfoods’ strongest periods of commercial expansion.
According to her professional profile, the business achieved double-digit growth in wet condiments, significantly increased household penetration and launched multiple new products across categories.
She also accelerated the company’s digital marketing capabilities through creator-led content strategies, in-house production capabilities and stronger use of performance analytics.
One of the company’s highest-profile campaigns involved the launch of Asun Seasoning Cubes, supported by a Guinness World Record-recognised consumer activation that generated extensive international media attention.
Leading FanMilk’s Next Chapter
FanMilk said Atinmo will focus on executing the company’s growth agenda by strengthening consumer engagement, improving route-to-market execution and creating sustainable value for customers, partners and shareholders.
The appointment comes at a time when Nigeria’s FMCG sector is adapting to persistent inflation, changing consumer purchasing behaviour and rising operating costs.
Companies have increasingly focused on innovation, affordability, supply-chain efficiency and distribution expansion to protect volumes and profitability.
Atinmo’s blend of engineering, operations, brand building and regional strategy is likely to be viewed as particularly relevant in navigating those challenges.
International Education
Alongside her corporate career, Atinmo has pursued executive education at several leading institutions.
She holds:
- A First Class Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
- An MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London.
- A Global Executive MBA from IE Business School.
- Harvard CORE for Business Leaders certification from Harvard Business School.
Atinmo’s appointment reflects a broader trend among multinational consumer goods companies operating in Africa: promoting executives with cross-functional experience spanning manufacturing, commercial strategy and regional leadership.
For FanMilk, the choice signals a continued emphasis on local leadership while navigating an increasingly complex Nigerian consumer market where distribution, affordability and brand relevance have become as important as product innovation.
