International Energy Services Limited is currently hiring a Financial Accountant with strong experience in the Oil & Gas / Energy / EPC sector.
This role is ideal for a seasoned finance professional who will oversee financial reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, and internal controls, while ensuring alignment with IFRS standards and Nigerian regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS
- Manage general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, and financial close processes
- Handle oil & gas accounting transactions (JV accounting, CAPEX/OPEX, cost recovery)
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
Tax & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with CIT, VAT, WHT, Education Tax, PPT
- Liaise with regulatory bodies like FIRS and NUPRC
- Manage timely filing of statutory and regulatory reports
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Support annual budget preparation and forecasting
- Monitor budget performance and variance analysis
- Provide cost control insights for projects and operations
Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Strengthen financial controls and compliance systems
- Support risk management and governance initiatives
Advisory & Management Support
- Deliver financial analysis and insights to management
- Support financial modeling and decision-making
- Act as a strategic finance partner across teams
Requirements
Experience
- 5–10 years post-qualification experience
- Background in Oil & Gas, Energy, or EPC industry (strong advantage)
- Experience in:
- Financial reporting
- Tax advisory & compliance
- Audit (Big 4 or similar preferred)
- Banking, credit, or international trade transactions
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of IFRS & Oil & Gas accounting standards
- Solid understanding of Nigerian tax laws
- Experience with ERP systems (Sage or similar)
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
