PSG Defeat Marseille on Penalties To Win Trophee des Champions

Late drama, big goals, and penalty shootout tension! PSG defeat Marseille 4–1 on penalties after a thrilling 2–2 Paris derby clash.

Paris Saint-Germain edged past Marseille on penalties after a dramatic 2–2 draw in a fiercely contested encounter that lived up to the rivalry’s reputation, with late goals, twists of fortune, and a decisive shootout at the Parc des Princes.

PSG struck first in the 13th minute when Ousmane Dembélé provided the spark, setting the tone for a dominant opening spell.

Vitinha’s influence in midfield helped the hosts control possession, and they carried a deserved 1–0 advantage into half-time.

The second half, however, unfolded at a frantic pace. Marseille responded immediately after the restart, with Timothy Weah leveling the contest in the 48th minute.

Momentum swung again as Pierre-Emile Højbjerg put the visitors ahead just five minutes later, punishing a lapse in concentration from the home side.

PSG refused to fold. Warren Zaïre-Emery drove the team forward, and pressure eventually told in dramatic fashion.

An own goal by Willian Pacho in the 87th minute, following sustained attacking play, brought Marseille back into the contest, making it 2–2.

With tensions high and stoppage time ticking away, Gonçalo Ramos delivered a crucial equalizer in the 95th minute after being set up by Bradley Barcola, forcing the match into a penalty shootout.

From the spot, PSG showed composure and clarity. Ramos opened the scoring, and Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Désiré Doué all converted their efforts.
