Microsoft Copilot Suffer Major Global Outage

Microsoft Copilot outage

Microsoft’s AI assistant, Copilot, suffered a major outage on Tuesday, leaving users unable to access the service across multiple platforms. The disruption affected Copilot’s standalone interface as well as its integration into Microsoft applications such as Office and other Microsoft 365 tools.

According to reports from outage-tracking platform Down Detector, the problems began early on Tuesday morning in the UK, with users experiencing error messages and failed responses. Many business users relying on Copilot for drafting, summaries, emails and productivity tasks expressed concerns about delays and interrupted workflow.

Microsoft had not immediately commented on the cause of the disruption at the time of filing this report, and it remains unclear whether the issue originated from cloud infrastructure problems or another system fault. The outage highlights growing concerns about reliability as more organisations depend on AI-powered tools for everyday work.

Users were advised to switch to alternative tools temporarily while engineers worked to restore services.
