A suicide bomber killed at least 12 people outside a district court in Islamabad on Tuesday, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed. Several others were wounded, with some reported in critical condition, a hospital source said.
The attacker attempted to enter the court on foot but detonated the device near a police vehicle after waiting 10 to 15 minutes, Naqvi told reporters. “We are investigating this incident from different angles. It is not just another bombing. It happened right in Islamabad,” he said.
Videos and images on local media showed people covered in blood lying next to a police van, highlighting the scale of the attack in the usually crowded court area. Authorities are probing motives and security lapses.
