Flutterwave has announced a transformative partnership with iPaylinks, a respected East Asian payment platform, aimed at streamlining cross-border trade between Africa and Asia.
Olugbenga Agboola, Flutterwave’s founder and CEO, hailed the collaboration as a significant milestone in delivering fast, secure, and seamless payment solutions, making international transactions as effortless as local purchases. He noted that the rapidly growing Africa-Asia trade corridor offers immense potential but has been hindered by challenges such as complex bank integrations, currency volatility, and slow settlement processes that strain exporters’ cash flow.
Terms of Partnership
Agboola highlighted that iPaylinks, known for its customized global payment solutions for Asian businesses, selected Flutterwave to address these obstacles. Through Flutterwave’s Virtual Accounts, iPaylinks’ clients can now accept payments from African buyers in local currencies, mimicking domestic transactions, with swift settlements and no hidden fees.
“Payments are more than transactions, they’re connections. Together with iPaylinks, we’re breaking down the barriers that have stalled trade between Africa and Asia,” Agboola said.
The partnership leverages Flutterwave’s single API integration, eliminating the need for iPaylinks to establish multiple bank accounts across Africa while ensuring regulatory compliance and security. Asian exporters benefit from receiving payments in local African currencies, which are seamlessly converted and settled in major currencies like the US dollar.
This setup promises settlement cycles of one to two days, enhancing cash flow for exporters and providing importers with a trusted, familiar payment experience via standard local bank transfers. This partnership is significant with Flutterwave having processed nearly $1 billion in cross-border transactions between Africa and Asia in the first half of 2025.
The collaboration also offers transparent pricing and competitive foreign exchange rates. Agboola emphasized, “This is a game-changer for B2B trade across continents. We are committed to empowering businesses that drive economies, as thriving trade fuels growth.”
As a regulated fintech unicorn operating across multiple African countries, Flutterwave continues to position itself as the preferred partner for global enterprises, marketplaces, and payment providers looking to tap into Africa’s $4 trillion trade economy.
