Job Title: Senior Operator
Location: Lagos
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise, mentor, and assist operators to maintain peak production and a strong safety program.
- Review production trends to identify cost and production optimization opportunities.
- Compile and complete accurate and timely activity reports, including shift logbooks.
- Ensure accurate daily production measurements and reporting.
- Maintain compliance with the company’s HSE guidelines.
- Troubleshoot operational problems.
- Serve as a backup for absent operators.
- Ensure safe operations and first-line maintenance activities in accordance with safety management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Manage, monitor, and report discharges and emissions to comply with environmental limits.
- Conduct thorough shift handovers with accurate operational and maintenance information.
Qualifications:
- BSc/HND in Chemical/Petroleum/Petrochemical Engineering.
- A minimum of eight years of practical working experience in Oil & Gas facilities.
- Apprenticeship and/or formal training in a relevant specialty area.
- Demonstrated technical skills and knowledge in process/plant operations.
- Strong knowledge of operations, procedures, and safety precautions.
- Excellent team building, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
