2. Grant for Creative, Cultural and Media Organizations

Opportunities - Africa No Filter

Africa-based cultural, creative and media organizations advocating empowering narratives about Africa can apply for Africa No Filter (AFN) operations support grant of up to $100,000. Owners of these businesses should be youths within the age range of 18-45 years.

AFN is a donor collaborative funded by Ford Foundation, Bloomberg  Bloomberg, Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Luminate, Open Society Foundation, Comic Relief and the Hilton Foundation. 2020 Women In Business Growth Lab for Nigerian female Entrepreneurs -  Scholarship for Africans

A female entrepreneurship programme called ‘The Women in Business Growth Lab’ has been launched by Connect Lab

The 3-month programme is meant for early stage start-ups in Nigeria that are owned by women. There programme has four components: Co-creation and Value Proposition BootCamp; Incubation Programme; Women in Business Deal Day and the Growth Mentorship Exchange. 40 female entrepreneurs will be allowed to participate in this initiative. 4. Call For Applications For Startup North-East Programme

Ventures Platform Foundation Launches Applications for Startup North-East -  TechCity

Ventures Platform Hub’s impact arm, Venture Platform Foundation has launched an incubation programme called Startup North-East. The initiative which is supported by the US embassy in Nigeria is created to support, fund and mentor tech-based start-ups in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria. 5. GVG To Support Tech-based Start-ups in Africa

Global Voice Group Seeks to Fund & Support African Tech-Based Startups

Global Voice Group, a provider of ICT and reg-tech solutions for governments and regulatory bodies has partnered with Disrupt Africa to identify tech-based start-ups in Africa that it will be investing in.

According to the CEO of GVG, James Gabriel, this investments will help exceptional entrepreneurs enhance their businesses. The selected businesses will be able access up to $300,000

Areas of focus are Digital ID/Mobile ID; Artificial Intelligence/Business Intelligence, Blockchain, Data analytics, Mobility data, Digitization of national payments systems, Payment gateways —focusing on interoperability, and Digital addressing & verification systems. 6. Calls For Proposals To Improve Food Security And Nutrition In Africa

Civil Society Statement on the New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition  in Africa : Food First

The Alliance for Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa (AESA) has announced a new funding for innovations to improve food security and nutrition in Africa. AESA is a funding initiative created through the partnership between African Academy of Sciences (AAS), the African Union Development Agency ( AUDA-NEPAD), founding and funding global partners and the resolution of the summit of African Union Heads of Government.

The innovation grants will be issued under the Grand Challenges Africa (GCA), a programme implemented in partnership with Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation. GC Africa aims promote Africa-led scientific innovations to help countries better achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by awarding seed and full grants to the continent’s most impressive

Profit, non-profit organizations, government laboratories, research institutions, colleges and universities can participate in this initiative. 7. Cleantech Thematic Challenge for Africa and EU Start-ups

Start-ups in Africa and Europe into clean energy production can apply for Cleantech Thematic Challenge organized by Africa-Europe Innovation Partnerships (AEIP). The aim is to encourage these start-ups in creating innovative energy solutions by linking them with African and European corporates who will help them grow and explore new markets. 8. ‘Back To Agro’ Project By Reap Africa Initiative

Reap Africa Initiative – Promoting Youth Participation in Agriculture

Reap Africa Initiative, a Non-governmental Organization has launched project KOMANOMA (Back to Agro) to empower over 50,000 unemployed Nigerian youths and also employ Nigerians with professional training on agro production, processing and marketing of agricultural products. Youths, men, women and even retirees who are passionate about agribusiness can participate in the programme. They will be trained, certified and mentored by Reap Africa Initiative.
