Tinubu Sends Names of Three Ambassadorial Nominees to Senate for Confirmation

Tinubu sends names of ambassadorial nominee

President Bola Tinubu has submitted a list of three ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for screening and approval.

The announcement was made on Wednesday during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The session was aired live on the National Assembly’s YouTube channel and monitored by PUNCH Online.

The nominees include:

  • Kayode Are (Ogun State)
  • Aminu Dalhatu (Jigawa State)
  • Ayodele Oke

“The list contains three names for now. I am sure others will follow,” Akpabio said after reading the president’s letter.

Since assuming office in 2023, President Tinubu has not appointed ambassadors a delay that has attracted public criticism and concerns over Nigeria’s diplomatic representation abroad.
