Seplat Energy 2024 dividend exchange rate

Seplat Energy Plc, a leading Nigerian independent energy company listed on both the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the London Stock Exchange, has announced the payment of an interim dividend of US4.6 cents per share for the first quarter ended March 31, 2025.

In a statement issued yesterday, the company said the interim dividend would be paid to shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members as at the close of business on May 23, 2025. The payment is scheduled for on or around June 6, 2025.

Seplat Energy stated that the dividend would be paid in either Naira or United States Dollars, depending on the category of shareholder. Shareholders holding their shares on the Nigerian Exchange Limited without a valid Certificate of Capital Importation (CCI) will receive their dividends in Naira, while those with a valid CCI will be paid in US Dollars unless they elect otherwise. Similarly, shareholders holding depository interests through the London Stock Exchange will be paid in US Dollars.

The company disclosed that the applicable exchange rate for converting the dividend to Naira would be determined by the dollar rate on May 22, 2025, and communicated to shareholders the following day.

To enable preparation for the dividend payment, Seplat’s Register of Shareholders will be closed on May 26, 2025. The company urged shareholders who are yet to complete their e-dividend registration to do so to ensure prompt receipt of their dividend.

Seplat also advised shareholders with unclaimed dividend warrants or share certificates to contact its registrars, Datamax Registrars Limited, or its UK depositary, Computershare.

Commenting on the development, the company noted that the interim dividend payout underscores its commitment to delivering shareholder value despite prevailing challenges in the domestic and international operating environment.

Seplat Energy has continued to maintain a strong balance sheet and cash flow generation, positioning itself as a resilient player in Nigeria’s energy sector amidst ongoing reforms and the global transition towards cleaner energy.
