The Board of Directors of NCR (Nigeria) Plc has appointed Her Excellency Mrs Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Saraki as a Non-Executive Director, effective June 11, 2026, subject to ratification by shareholders at the company’s next Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The appointment brings one of Africa’s most prominent health advocates, development leaders, and governance experts to the board of one of Nigeria’s leading technology and financial solutions companies.
About Toyin Saraki
Mrs. Oluwatoyin Ojora Saraki is a lawyer, philanthropist, and internationally recognised advocate for women’s and children’s health. Over the past two decades, she has built a reputation as one of Africa’s most influential voices on reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health, as well as gender equality, education, and socio-economic empowerment.
She is the Founder-President of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), a non-governmental organisation focused on improving health and wellbeing outcomes across Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. Through the foundation, she has championed initiatives aimed at reducing maternal and infant mortality, expanding access to healthcare, promoting family planning, combating gender-based violence, and supporting community livelihoods.
Saraki’s influence extends beyond Nigeria through a range of leadership and advisory roles with global organizations. She is the Inaugural and Emeritus Global Goodwill Ambassador of the International Confederation of Midwives and serves as Special Adviser and member of the Independent Advisory Group of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa.
She is also the Family Planning Champion for United Nations Population Fund Nigeria, Newborn Health Champion for Nigeria at Save the Children, and a Global Champion of the White Ribbon Alliance. Her contributions to global healthcare advocacy earned her recognition as a Universal Health Coverage Global Champion by Devex.
At the international governance level, Saraki serves on the Board of Trustees of Seed Global Health and sits on the Bayer Sustainability Council and the AstraZeneca Global Breast Cancer Care Council. In 2024, she was appointed a Champion of the World Economic Forum Global Alliance for Women’s Health and became a member of the World Economic Forum Global Activators Network on Women’s Health.
Her other leadership roles include serving on the leadership councils of Africa REACH and Concordia, acting as a judge and challenge leader for maternal and newborn health at MIT Solve, membership of the African Women Leaders Network, and serving as Honorary Global Patron of LifeLine International.
