AI infrastructure company Nscale has appointed Nigerian accounting expert Idris Ayinde, FCA, as its Director of Accounting Policy, strengthening its finance leadership as the company expands its global AI infrastructure business.
Ayinde assumed the hybrid London-based role in July 2026 and will lead accounting policy across the fast-growing technology company, overseeing technical accounting matters as Nscale continues to build AI infrastructure and cloud solutions for enterprises and creators.
The appointment marks another milestone in Ayinde’s career, which has been defined by expertise in technical accounting, financial reporting, treasury, hedge accounting and complex financial instruments under both International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
Professional Career
Before joining Nscale, Ayinde served as Head of Technical Accounting at Checkout.com between September 2025 and June 2026, having previously held the position of Senior Manager, Technical Accounting at the global payments company.
Earlier, he spent more than three years with EY’s CFO Advisory Services (FAAS) practice, advising clients on UK GAAP, IFRS, treasury and hedge accounting. During his time at EY, he also represented the Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) region as a member of the firm’s FY23–24 Global FAAS Shadow Board.
His professional experience also includes senior technical accounting and advisory roles at KPMG UK, where he specialised in Banking Accounting Advisory; PwC Nigeria, where he worked in Capital Markets and Accounting Consulting and participated in the IFRS 9 implementation working group; and Deloitte, where he advised on accounting, actuarial and quantitative solutions, including IFRS 9 and IAS 39 implementation, valuation of derivatives and other financial instruments, actuarial valuations and group accounting for complex corporate structures.
Over the course of his career, Ayinde has developed expertise in the accounting treatment of financial assets, impairment, derivatives, swaps, options, retirement benefit obligations and the preparation of IFRS-compliant financial statements.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ayinde is recognised for his technical expertise, leadership of international teams and experience advising financial institutions and corporate clients on complex accounting matters.
His appointment reflects Nscale’s investment in building a finance function capable of supporting rapid growth in one of the world’s fastest-evolving technology sectors, where robust accounting governance and financial reporting are increasingly critical.
