What You Need For NYSC Registration
If you’re preparing for NYSC online registration, the documents and information you need depend on whether you are a Nigerian-trained or foreign-trained graduate.
For a locally trained graduate, you should have the following ready:
- Your valid email address and active Nigerian phone number.
- Your JAMB registration number and other admission details.
- Your matriculation number. NYSC says locally trained prospective corps members must use the correct matriculation number.
- Your degree or HND information and details of your institution.
- Your passport photograph in the required format for uploading.
- Your O’Level details, including WAEC, NECO or equivalent examination information.
- Your personal details, including date of birth, state of origin, local government area and contact information.
- Your NIN details, where required during the registration process.
- NERD Certificate
Your institution must have submitted your name to NYSC through its Senate/Academic Board-approved result list. If your name is not on the approved list submitted by your school, you will not be able to proceed with normal registration.
Married Female Graduates
If you are a married female graduate, you should also prepare:
- Marriage certificate
- Evidence of change of name, where applicable
- Evidence of your husband’s place of domicile
Foreign University Graduates
The requirements here are considerably more extensive. NYSC requires, among other things:
- Original Degree or HND certificate
- Complete official transcript
- O’Level certificate
- Nigerian international passport
- Passport pages showing entry visa and travel history connected to the period of study
- Residence permit/visa covering the period of study
- Additional professional registration/licensing documents for certain health professionals
NYSC specifically states that downloaded certificates/transcripts, statement of result and attestation letters are generally not accepted in place of the required certificates. Foreign-trained graduates are also required to use a Nigerian phone number during online registration.
