The naira rebounded against the US dollar at Nigeria’s official foreign exchange market on Thursday, September 10, 2026, closing at N1,328.22/$1, after weakening to ₦1,334/$ the previous day.
The latest rate represents a ₦5.78, or 0.43%, appreciation from Wednesday’s closing rate of ₦1,334/$.
The recovery came as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) supplied about $151 million to the foreign exchange market, helping to boost dollar liquidity amid recent demand pressure.

Data from the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market showed the naira had weakened by ₦11.10, or 0.84%, on September 9, falling from ₦1,322.90/$ to ₦1,334/$.
CardinalStone reported that the CBN sold approximately $151 million at rates ranging from ₦1,322.71 to ₦1,331.50 per dollar during the latest intervention.
The dollar sales provided additional liquidity and helped support the naira’s recovery at the official market.
Naira Strengthens Against Other Currencies
The naira also strengthened against other major currencies at the official market.
It closed at ₦1,798.22/£1, compared with ₦1,802.15/£1 previously, while the euro closed at ₦1,540.99/€1, against ₦1,548.27/€1 the previous day.
In the parallel market, however, the naira remained unchanged at ₦1,375/$1, leaving a gap of about ₦46.78 per dollar between the parallel-market and official rates.
