NAHCON Launches Digital Hajj Savings Scheme

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), in partnership with the Alternative Bank, is set to unveil a fully digital Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS) platform designed to modernize pilgrimage planning for Nigerian Muslims.

According to NAHCON’s Information Officer, Malam Kabir Muhammad, the platform will enable intending pilgrims to open and manage their HSS accounts directly from smartphones, tablets, and computers.

The initiative follows a strategic meeting in Abuja between NAHCON officials and a delegation from the Alternative Bank, where the design and rollout of the digital service were finalized.

The session was led by Head of the Hajj Savings Scheme, Abdulmumin Aliyu, and IT specialist, Rabiat Akinwale, representing the bank, alongside senior staff members of both organizations.

Aliyu described the digital launch as a major step forward in simplifying access to Hajj planning, empowering prospective pilgrims with full control over their savings accounts.

He emphasized that the website would integrate seamlessly with Alternative Bank branches nationwide, providing real-time updates, eliminating paperwork, and reducing delays once applicants register with BVN, NIN, phone number, and email.

Akinwale reassured NAHCON of the bank’s commitment to delivering a secure, user-friendly, and transparent platform.

She stressed that the goal is to allow pilgrims to save, open, and monitor their HSS accounts anytime and anywhere, with the highest security standards embedded into the system.
