The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced the start of Phase III (the final phase) of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
According to a circular sighted by Arbiterz,
– Phase III CVR begins on 11th May 2026 (with online pre-registration and in-person registration at INEC offices).
– It will run until 10th July 2026 (though some public announcements mention the broader CVR window closing on 17th August 2026).
– The exercise supports new voter registration (for those who have turned 18), transfer of voter registration, and related bio-data updates.- Registration typically occurs at INEC state/LGA offices on weekdays (usually 9am–3pm).
In continuation of the process, the Commission will display the Register of Voters for claims and objections from Thursday, 23rd July to Wednesday, 29th July 2026. This statutory exercise provides an important opportunity for citizens to scrutinise the register and assist the Commission in ensuring its accuracy, completeness and credibility.

This is the third and final major window in the 2025–2026 CVR cycle. Earlier phases saw millions of registrations, with INEC pushing for higher completion rates through both online and physical processes.
Eligible citizens (especially first-time voters aged 18+) should visit the official portal cvr.inecnigeria.org for pre-registration or head to the nearest INEC office for in-person registration during this window.
