Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre’s glam wedding: The designer behind the outfits
Idris Elba, the English actor and DJ, tied the knot with his girlfriend of 2 years, Sabrina Dhowre, at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh, Morroco . The Canadian model and former Miss Vancouver met Elba in 2017 while he was filming his movie The Mountain Between Us in Canada.
Dhowre looked dashing in a custom soft white draped silk crepe gown with off the shoulder sleeves. Sewn into the hem of the dress was the message, “This train carries no wrong do-ers”
Dhowre’s wedding gown was custom made by Vera Ellen Wang, an American fashion designer of Chinese descent. In 1990, Vera resigned from Ralph Lauren after designing for them for 2 years and became an independent bridal wear designer. She has boutiques in several countries. Vera Wang has designed bridal wears for celebrities such as Ivanka Trump, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Victoria Beckham, Khloe Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, and many more.
Vera partnered with David’s Bridal in 2011 to launch the affordable “White by Vera Wang” collection with prices of the gowns ranging from $600 – $1,400 (N216,300 – N504,700).

Elba looked dashing as always in a bespoke three-piece suit by Ozwald Boateng OBE for the ceremony.

Ozwald, a British fashion designer, and Idris Elba’s go-to tailor, is known for his classic British tailoring and bespoke style. He has dressed stars like Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, Mick Jaggers, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sean Combs. One of his suits was featured in the blockbuster movie Black Panther.
