Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila,President’s Chief of Staff Invites Nigerian Youths To Apply for Legislative Mentorship Initiative

Nigerian youth aged 21–35 invited to apply for the LMI Fellowship in governance, policy design, and legislative leadership.

The Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI) has opened applications for its 4th cohort, giving young Nigerians a pathway into leadership and governance training under a flagship mentorship programme.

Founded by Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, CFR, Chief of Staff to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and former Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, the LMI Fellowship is designed to cultivate emerging leaders with expertise in public sector leadership, governance, policy design, legislative drafting, public administration, and international relations.

Applications are open exclusively to Nigerian citizens aged 21 to 35, beginning on 1st October 2025 (9:00 am) and closing on 14th October 2025 through the official portal www.lmi.ng

Over the past three cohorts, the programme has gained a reputation as a leading pipeline for young professionals seeking to understand the workings of Nigeria’s democracy while receiving hands-on mentorship from legislators, diplomats, and senior administrators.

Ambassador Dapo Oyewole, Secretary General of COSPAL and Chairman of the LMI Planning & Advisory Committee, described the fellowship’s mission as “building better leaders for a better Nigeria.”

The initiative comes at a time when Nigeria’s governance challenges demand innovative policy solutions and accountable leadership. By equipping young professionals with practical experience and high-level mentorship, the LMI Fellowship seeks to bridge the gap between aspiration and effective governance in Africa’s largest democracies.
