Geregu Power Plc Approves Q2 2025 Financials, Appoints Legal Veteran Andrew Gamble as Independent Director

Geregu Power Plc has announced key outcomes from its board meeting held on July 11, 2025, including the approval of its Q2 2025 unaudited financial statements and the appointment of Mr. Andrew Gamble as an Independent Non-Executive Director. This strategic move comes as the company seeks to further strengthen its corporate governance and global footprint in the energy and infrastructure investment space.

According to a disclosure signed by Company Secretary Akinleye Olagbende, the half-year financial statements for the period ending June 30, 2025, have been released to the public. Consequently, the trading window for the company’s shares has been reopened.

The board’s appointment of Andrew Gamble pending ratification at the next Annual General Meeting—signals a bold step toward reinforcing Geregu’s strategic direction and global stakeholder engagement. Gamble brings decades of experience in law, finance, and cross-border corporate strategy. He was formerly a senior partner at Hogan Lovells, where he advised sovereign governments, multilateral institutions, and major financial players across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

During his tenure at Hogan Lovells, he held top leadership roles including Head of International Banking, Regional Managing Partner (London), and Head of the Africa Practice. He was instrumental in the firm’s expansion into key markets including Moscow, Warsaw, Dubai, Frankfurt, and South Africa.

Now an independent consultant, Mr. Gamble continues to advise on complex legal and strategic matters, including the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). His current board roles include Independent Chairman of Africa Credit Opportunities Limited and Chair of the Risk Committee at NASDAQ-listed Freedom Holding Corp. He previously served on the boards of Zenith Bank UK and Afreximbank.

Gamble also sits on the Governing Council of the Pan-African Payments and Settlement System (PAPSS) and supports charitable and professional organisations, such as ENT UK and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
