Alhaji Aliko Dangote has revealed he has resumed the construction of a cement factory in Itori, Ogun State following the intervention of prince Dapo Abiodun, the state governor.
He made this known to newsmen during a facility visit to the factory in company of the governor.
Early Setback
The billionaire during the visit revealed the construction had earlier witnessed a setback having been demolished twice under the previous administration in the state.
“It should be on record that the factory we are visiting now in Itori, you know it was because of his excellency that we came back.
“That factory was demolished twice. We started building, then Governor Amosun demolished it, we started building again and he demolished not only the factory but the fence.
“But right now with the impact of prince Dapo Abiodun, we are now back. When we go there you would be very surprised.”
About the Proposed Factory
The proposed factory features two 6,000,000t/day clinker production lines handling the entire process from limestone crushing to cement packaging and it is expected to begin operations in 2026.
