BudgIT is Hiring: Head of Research and Policy Advisory

BudgIT, one of Nigeria’s leading civic-tech and public accountability organisations, is recruiting a Head of Research and Policy Advisory to lead its data-driven advocacy, policy engagement, and thought-leadership efforts.

The role is based in Lagos and offers an opportunity to influence fiscal transparency, governance reforms, and evidence-based policymaking across Nigeria and Africa.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee BudgIT’s research strategy, manage policy advisory projects, and lead a multidisciplinary team producing high-impact policy briefs, reports, and data visualisations.

The position demands excellent analytical, communication, and project-management skills, with a proven ability to translate complex socio-economic data into actionable insights for government, media, and civil-society audiences.

Required Competencies

• Strong analytical and data skills in Excel, MySQL, Tableau, or Python for policy research and big-data analysis.

• Exceptional writing and communication ability across media, reports, and stakeholder engagements.

• Experience managing teams and partnerships, with gravitas to influence decision-makers and collaborators in the public sector.

• Project-management expertise, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of research and advisory outputs.
