GENERAL DESCRIPTION & JOB OVERVIEW
The Finance Director position is a highly responsible administrative work involving the direction of a broad range of finance responsibilities. The position requires excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and supervisory management skills, as well as excellent knowledge, skill, and ability in every phase of financial management, institutions or blue-chip companies.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS REQUIRED
* Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Engineering or any other related field.
* An MBA or other post-graduate professional qualification will be an added advantage.
* Minimum of 20 years’ significant commercial experience, preferably from FMCG, Banking or Telecommunications sectors, or from blue-chip companies.
* 10 years’ cognate experience at senior management level with strong track record of delivering growth.
* Proven experience in managing a significant and successful P&L.
* Risk management experience, including proven experience in identifying and developing new business.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Good understanding of financial modelling for decision-making.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Project management skills, both as a leader and key team member.
* Must have attained the status of a GM or Executive Director in reputable financial institutions or blue-chip companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities will include but not limited to:
* Developing and driving the agenda of the Company’s financial growth.
* Developing short-term revenue growth strategy.
* Continuously seeking market expansion and new business opportunities.
* Actively giving direction and leadership in achieving the company’s financial objectives.
* Providing direction and leadership to all company units in all financial matters.
* Leading potential business development initiatives.
* Driving the company’s key financial performance indicators.
* Monitoring and improving revenue generation and cashflow.
* Managing and regularly reviewing the company’s working capital and operating expenses.
* Empowering and motivating sales teams to achieve set targets.
