Apple Rolls Out New Siri AI on Iphones, Ipad, MAC

Siri AI

Apple has introduced Siri AI, a fully redesigned version of its virtual assistant, powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence and designed to deliver more conversational, context-aware, and system-wide capabilities across its devices.

The company announced the upgrade in a press release, describing Siri AI as a “profoundly more capable and personal assistant” with enhanced reasoning, onscreen awareness, and deep integration across apps and services.

According to Apple, Siri AI can now handle a wider range of tasks, including answering complex questions using real-time web information, retrieving personal data from emails, messages, photos, and documents, and performing actions across multiple apps.

Apple said the assistant has been rebuilt on a new architecture that combines on-device processing with secure cloud-based computing via Private Cloud Compute, a system designed to ensure user data is not stored or accessible to Apple or third parties.

The upgraded Siri also introduces a dedicated app that allows users to revisit and continue conversations across devices, alongside expanded Visual Intelligence features that enable Siri to interpret and respond to on-screen and camera-based content.

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, said the new system is designed to make Siri more natural and useful in everyday interactions.

“With access to broad world knowledge for up-to-date answers on virtually any topic, along with onscreen awareness and personal context understanding, Siri AI can help users take action across apps more naturally than ever,” he said.

System-wide integration and new capabilities

Siri AI is now deeply embedded across Apple’s ecosystem, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, CarPlay, and Vision Pro. Users can activate it via voice, hardware buttons, Spotlight search, or contextual menus.

On supported devices, Siri can draft emails, edit photos, summarise content, and interact directly with what is displayed on screen. Apple says the assistant can also provide writing assistance, automatically adjusting tone and structure based on user habits and communication style.

The company also highlighted expanded Visual Intelligence features, allowing users to query objects, images, and screen content in real time, including through the camera interface on iPhone.

Apple emphasised that Siri AI is built on a hybrid architecture combining on-device processing with secure server-side computation. When cloud processing is required, Apple says user data is handled through Private Cloud Compute, which ensures information is not stored or accessible to Apple or external parties.

The system also integrates with Apple’s on-device models to enhance dictation accuracy, voice expressiveness, and system-wide automation features.

Availability and rollout

Apple confirmed that Siri AI is available for developer testing starting today through the Apple Developer Program on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and visionOS 27.

A public beta is expected later this year, with initial availability limited to English and supported devices, including newer iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro models.

The company also noted that some features will roll out gradually across regions, with certain limitations in the European Union and China due to regulatory requirements.
