The Africa Business Convention (ABC), one of the continent’s leading gatherings for business and investment leaders, has announced that its 2026 edition will take place on February 3 – 4, 2026 at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria.

Now in its fifth year, the Convention has become a high-level platform for dialogue, deal-making, and investment mobilisation across Africa. The 2026 theme, “Africa Grow,” comes amid new IMF forecasts projecting 3.7 – 3.8 percent GDP growth for the continent—signalling renewed momentum despite global headwinds.

Six Thematic Streams

ABC 2026 will convene leaders, policymakers, and investors around six strategic areas driving Africa’s next growth phase:

  1. Agriculture and Food Security

  2. Banking, Investments, and Capital

  3. Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)

  4. FinTech, Innovation and Technology

  5. Jobs, Economy, and Trade

  6. Power, Infrastructure, and Energy

These sessions are designed to generate actionable ideas, catalyse partnerships, and align private-sector growth with public-policy reforms.

Driving a Collaborative Agenda

While unveiling plans for the event, Dr. Ogho Okiti, Founder and Convener of the Convention, noted:

“The 2026 ABC is the fifth in the series and has been carefully curated to galvanise Africa’s governments, businesses, policymakers, and investors towards collaborative action that will transform the business landscape and wider economy of the continent.”

He added:

“Africa’s growth is real but uneven. Some countries are advancing quickly, others are struggling to keep pace. At ABC 2026, we want to ask the critical questions—how can we accelerate growth, build the right foundations, and pursue the reforms needed for it to be both sustainable and inclusive?”

Expected Outcomes

ABC 2026 aims to produce tangible results, including:

  • Greater B2B and G2B collaboration

  • Increased investment flows into key sectors

  • Acceleration of intra-African trade under AfCFTA

  • Growth of African-owned enterprises

  • Policy alignment that supports inclusive development

Since inception, the Convention has hosted over 8,700 delegates, 140 speakers, and participants from across Africa and beyond, establishing itself as one of the most influential business and policy forums on the continent.
