Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of violating an energy ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump, saying Russian drones and missiles struck power and gas facilities across Ukraine hours after the announcement.
Zelenskyy said on Monday that Kyiv remained willing to suspend attacks on energy infrastructure if Moscow agreed to reciprocal restraint, despite overnight strikes that disrupted electricity and water supplies in parts of the country.
“We are ready to respect an energy ceasefire if Russia is ready to do the same,” Zelenskyy said while addressing the Warsaw Security Forum in Poland. He added that Ukraine was prepared to sign guarantees to demonstrate its commitment.

Trump had announced on his Truth Social platform on Sunday that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an “energy ceasefire”, although details of the arrangement remained unclear.
“Immediately after [Trump’s] post, Russia launched a targeted strike,” Zelenskyy said, adding that the attacks showed Moscow was not prepared to honour the proposed pause.
He also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of using attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities to undermine the US initiative.
“Last night, Russian oil refineries were not burning. But at midnight a Russian jet-powered Shahed drone hit a gas plant in Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.
Sergii Fedorenko, acting chief executive of Ukraine’s state-owned gas company Naftogaz, confirmed that a Russian drone had damaged critical equipment at a gas facility.
