LemFi has appointed Dr Haydar Daudu as its Head of Regulatory Affairs and Policy, West Africa. Daudu’s new role will see him lead the company’s regulatory affairs and policy activities across West Africa, drawing on his experience within Nigeria’s central banking and economic-policy ecosystem.Professional Background
Daudu joins LemFi after nearly three years at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), where he served in senior advisory roles under the Director-General of Corporate Services and the Director-General of Economic Policy.
He was Special Adviser to the DG, Corporate Services, from June to August 2026, after serving as Special Adviser to the DG, Economic Policy, from October 2023 to May 2026.
Before joining the CBN, Daudu spent more than four years with the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, where he served as Senior Economist from June 2021 to October 2023. He previously served as Chief of Staff at the organisation between June 2019 and June 2021.
His earlier experience includes a year as an Investment/Research Analyst at NPF Pensions Ltd, where he worked from December 2017 to December 2018.
Daudu began his career with the Centre for Policy Research and Development Solutions, where he worked as an intern in 2015 and contributed to efforts to develop a domesticated version of the Sustainable Development Goals agenda for Nigeria.
Academic background
Daudu holds a PhD in Economics from Nile University of Nigeria. He also has a Master’s degree in Development Economics and Policy from the University of Manchester, where he was involved with the Global Development Institute Society.
He earned a First Class Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Essex.
