MFM Choir Wins Gold at World Choir Games in Sweden

Mountain Top Chorale of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries has won gold in the Spiritual Category of the 14th World Choir Games in Helsingborg, Sweden. The choir, conducted by Oluwasegun Okedunmola, scored 87.38 points in Category C14 – Spiritual to emerge champion of the category.

The choir also won the Champions Competition at the 2026 World Choir Games, according to MFM General Overseer, Daniel Olukoya, who celebrated the achievement in a Facebook post on Monday.

“What a glorious moment for Mountain Top Chorale of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries!” Olukoya wrote while congratulating the choir.

He described the victory as “more than a musical achievement”, saying it demonstrated discipline, excellence, dedication and teamwork. “From Nigeria to the world, Mountain Top Chorale has raised the banner high,” he said.

The World Choir Games, organised by Interkultur, is the largest international choir competition and is taking place in Helsingborg from August 6 to 16, 2026. According to the organisers, about 8,500 singers from more than 40 countries are participating in the event, with more than 160 choirs competing and performing during the games.

Celebrating Mountain Top Chorale’s performance, Olukoya said the victory had brought honour to Nigeria and the MFM family. He also commended the choristers, conductor and choir leadership, as well as those whose contributions helped the group achieve the result.

The victory adds to Nigeria’s presence on the international choral music stage and places Mountain Top Chorale among the choirs recognised at the 2026 global competition.
