Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored a brace as Nottingham Forest secured a 3-1 win over Chelsea to lift themselves six points above the relegation zone and compound Chelsea’s misery.
Awoniyi scored from a header one minute into his 100th Premier League appearance , profiting off a cross from the right by Darkwa from the right to power the ball past Robert Sanchez in the Chelsea goal.
The Nigerian won a penalty fifteen minutes into the game, which Igor Jesus converted to put Nottingham Forest 2-0 up against a shell-shocked Chelsea who struggled to contain Forest in the first half. Cole Palmer missed a penalty for Chelsea just before halftime as the Chelsea attacker continued his struggle for form

Forest continued their onslaught in the second half as Awoniyi scored a tap-in from a Morgan Gibbs White cross to record his second of the day as Chelsea sought to gain a foothold on the game.
Joao Pedro eventually pulled one back for Chelsea in the later stages of the second half, having earlier had a goal ruled out by VAR as Chelsea sought a way back into the game.
The loss was Chelsea’s sixth straight loss in the premier league as the London Club’s horrible run of form continues. Nottingham Forest now turn their attentions to their Europa League semi final second leg against Aston Villa on Thursday.
