Role Overview
The Deputy CEO will serve as the CEO’s principal strategic partner and operational lead, with direct oversight of research delivery, institutional systems, and commercial performance.
This is a high-impact leadership role combining strategy, operations, business development, and institutional representation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Executive Leadership
•Provide enterprise-wide leadership alongside the CEO
•Translate strategic priorities into executable operational plans
•Strengthen governance, performance management, and institutional discipline
Operational Excellence
•Oversee day-to-day operations across research, fieldwork, analytics, and administration
•Ensure delivery timelines, quality standards, and methodological integrity
•Institutionalise process efficiency and scalable systems
Research & Methodological Rigor
•Safeguard data quality, sampling robustness, and analytical credibility
•Embed global best practices in public opinion research and survey methodology
•Strengthen quality assurance and compliance frameworks
Commercial Growth & Client Engagement
•Lead revenue growth strategy and pipeline development
•Build and maintain high-level relationships with government agencies, corporate clients, multilaterals, and foundations
•Develop new research products and advisory offerings
Talent & Organisational Development
•Build and mentor high-performing cross-functional teams
•Strengthen leadership bench and succession planning
•Foster a culture of intellectual rigor, accountability, and innovation
External Representation
•Represent the organisation in executive-level forums
•Serve as spokesperson with policymakers, donors, and strategic partners
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate combines executive maturity, analytical credibility, and commercial discipline.
Required Experience & Competencies:
•Minimum 10 years’ leadership experience, with at least 5 years at senior/executive level
•Proven track record scaling research, consulting, advisory, or data-driven organisations
•Strong commercial instinct and business development capability
•Experience managing complex stakeholder environments
•Demonstrated ability to build systems and high-performance teams
Preferred Background:
•Public opinion research
•Policy advisory or governance consulting
•Strategy consulting
•Data analytics or economic research
Advanced degrees (Master’s/PhD) in Economics, Public Policy, Statistics, Political Science, Business, or related disciplines are advantageous.
