Business Development Service Providers (BDSPs), Entrepreneurship Support Organisations (ESOs), and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) working to strengthen Nigeria’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are invited to submit applications for partnership under a major donor-supported development programme.
The call targets qualified and experienced organisations operating in the following states:
Adamawa, Anambra, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Ondo, Oyo, Kano, Kaduna, Kebbi and Nasarawa.
Strategic Focus Areas
The programme seeks implementing partners with demonstrable expertise in:
Enterprise development and business advisory services
Capacity building and entrepreneurship training
MSME support systems
Ecosystem strengthening and institutional development
Financial literacy and access-to-finance readiness
Value chain promotion and market linkages
Selected organisations will collaborate in advancing inclusive and sustainable economic growth by strengthening local entrepreneurship ecosystems and improving the competitiveness and resilience of MSMEs.
Development Context
MSMEs account for the vast majority of businesses in Nigeria and remain central to employment generation, poverty reduction and regional economic development. However, structural gaps in access to finance, managerial capacity, market integration and institutional coordination continue to constrain growth.
This call represents a structured effort to deepen ecosystem-level support through partnerships with credible local actors capable of delivering high-impact interventions.
Funding and Implementation Framework
The call is issued under programmes co-financed by:
The Delegation of the European Union to Nigeria and ECOWAS (EU)
The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
Implementation is led by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (GIZ) in collaboration with national and subnational stakeholders.
