Julius Malema, leader of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has sparked conversations online after brushing aside reports that the United States may restrict his entry, saying Africa remains his preferred destination.
In a video circulating on social media, Malema disclosed that American authorities are allegedly considering limiting his access to the country.
Reacting humorously, he said such a move would not trouble him, as he would rather travel freely across African nations, including Nigeria.

According to the outspoken politician, Africa represents his true home — a place where he feels unrestricted and welcomed.
He joked that instead of worrying about being denied entry to the US, he could simply enjoy local delicacies elsewhere on the continent.
“Even if America decides I must not enter, that is fine,” Malema said. “I will go to Zimbabwe, Botswana, Nigeria — I will go to Africa, my home.”
He added that he saw little appeal in chasing Western fast food when he could enjoy Nigerian cuisine instead, referencing jollof rice, goat meat and pepper soup as better alternatives to American burgers.
Malema also recalled his visit to Nigeria in August during the Nigerian Bar Association’s annual conference, describing the hospitality and food he received as memorable.
“So if you want to threaten me with America or London visas, I don’t care,” he remarked. “Why should I fight for burgers when I can have jollof?”
His comments have since drawn mixed reactions online, with many Africans praising his pan-African sentiment and light-hearted endorsement of Nigerian food.
