The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is hiring to fill multiple positions in its Nigeria National Office.
ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be responsible for the development and moderation of tests in their subjects of specialisation and be involved in other examination activities of the Council.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree at least (Second Class Lower Division) from a recognised University in the underlisted subject areas:

ACCOUNTANTS
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties, among others, in the Finance Division:
- Prepare financial statements and budgets.
- Conduct financial analysis and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal control systems.
- Supervise financial transactions in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepare financial statements in line with IFRS.
- Oversee the input and management of financial data and reports for the Council.
- Review revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budgetary controls.
- Perform cost reduction strategies and cash flow improvement.
- Liaise with Internal and External Auditors during audits.
- Serve as statutory member of designated Boards and Committees.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Office.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must:
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or any other related course of study with at least Second Class Lower Division.
- Be an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK) / Institute of Chartered Accountants, UK (ACA).
- Have at least three (3) years post-NYSC professional experience.
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT OFFICERS
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties, among others:
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures.
- Assist in handling staff and Management issues.
- Maintain Human Resource database relating to employee records.
- Coordinate performance management processes.
- Prepare and review Human Resource Management reports.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must:
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
- Be a registered member of CIPM, SHRM, CIPD, or any other related certification is an added advantage.
- Have at least three (3) years post-NYSC relevant work experience in employee relations, HR generalist role, recruitment, talent management, and data analysis.
- Master’s degree in any relevant field is an added advantage.
MEDICAL DOCTOR
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties, among others:
- Provide effective clinical management of staff, including diagnosis, investigations, treatment, and follow-up.
- Order medical examinations and maintain proper documentation.
- Deliver health education seminars.
- Develop and implement health programmes for staff.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head, Medical Services.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must:
- Possess a degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognised University.
- Be fully registered with the MDCN.
- Have a minimum of one (1) year post-NYSC relevant experience in a reputable clinical setting.
- Possess good proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
INTERNAL AUDITOR II
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be assigned duties in the Audit Department of the WAEC International Office, Lagos and will be required to assist in:
- Evaluating Internal Control and making recommendations on improvement.
- Evaluating the reliability, sufficiency, and validity of accounting and relevant data.
- Reviewing financial transactions, processes, identifying shortfalls and gaps.
- Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, relevant laws, and statutes.
- Assuring safeguards of assets.
- Preparing internal audit reports for Management consideration.
- Advising whether risks relating to strategic objectives are identified and managed appropriately.
- Performing other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must:
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (at least Second Class Lower Division) in Accounting or any other relevant discipline.
- Be an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or ACA.
- Have a minimum of three (3) years post-NYSC relevant work experience.
General Requirements
- Be able to use personal computers, office software packages, and have knowledge of web-based systems.
- Be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and prepare relevant reports.
- Be proactive team workers with little or no supervision.
- Be self-motivated and ready to meet targets/deadlines.
- Be analytical, organized, and adaptable.
- Be good planners with the ability to multi-task.
>Applicants must possess at least 5 credits in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE (including English Language and Mathematics) at a sitting, or 6 credits (including English Language and Mathematics) at not more than two sittings.
>Applicants must not be more than 40 years of age at the time of applying.
>Applicants should have completed one (1) year of NYSC National Youth Service.
