Uzoamaka Oshogwe succeeds Dupe Olusola in the position

Uzoamaka Oshogwe has been appointed the new MD/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc. Heir appointment was announced by the chairman of Heirs Holdings, the parent company of Transcorp Hotels, Tony Elumelu on Monday afternoon.

Uzoamaka Oshogwe succeeds Dupe Olusola in the position. Her extensive expertise in real estate and hospitality is expected to further the company’s strategic objectives and market leadership.

Uzoamaka “Uzo” Oshogwe brings over three decades of experience spanning the real estate, financial services, and hospitality sectors to the job. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Ambrose Alli University and a Master’s degree in Information Systems Design from the University of Westminster. To further strengthen her professional expertise, she earned a certificate in Real Estate Management from Harvard Business School.

Oshogwe’s career began at Accenture UK, where she developed her skills in business and technology consulting before returning to Nigeria to join United Bank for Africa Plc. Her transition into the real estate sector was marked by her appointment as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Afriland Properties Plc in 2012.

Under her leadership, Afriland experienced substantial growth, with a 150% increase in total revenue to ₦4.72 billion and a 34% rise in profit before tax to ₦2.41 billion. She played a pivotal role in the transformation of key projects, including the redevelopment of the former Raymond House into Afriland Towers, a modern commercial property in Lagos.

A Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants and an RICS-accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator, Oshogwe has completed executive programs including the Advanced Management Programme at Lagos Business School and the Chief Executive Programme at IESE Business School, Spain.

Beyond her corporate achievements, Oshogwe is a strong advocate for gender inclusivity in leadership. During her tenure at Afriland Properties, the company’s board achieved 50% female representation, with 44% women in executive roles and 38% among the general staff.

Her leadership philosophy emphasizes innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable growth, positioning her as a key figure in Nigeria’s evolving business landscape.
