US president Donald Trump’s administration has offered undocumented immigrants in the United States $1,000 to leave the country.
The move was announced by the Department of Homeland Security on Monday, as part of efforts by the Trump administration to speed up its massive deportations.
Details of Initiative
Under the new initiative, migrants who use the Customs and Border Protection Home App to notify the government of their departure will receive a $1,000 stipend after they’ve returned to their home country.

The stipend will be offered in addition to travel assistance and the promise of avoiding arrest.
According to the DHS, the Trump administration has deported 152,000 people since it took office on January 20, lower than the 195,000 deported from February to April last year under Joe Biden.
