Sanwo-Olu Announces 50% Lagos Blue Line Fare Reduction on Thursday

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared a 50% fare reduction on the Lagos Blue Line rail service for Thursday, September 4, 2025. This significant discount commemorates the second anniversary of the mass transit system that has transformed urban transportation in Nigeria’s commercial capital.

The Blue Line has achieved a remarkable safety milestone, transporting over five million passengers without recording a single accident since operations began. This sterling safety record underscores the effectiveness of Lagos State’s investment in modern rail infrastructure and operational standards.

Current operations demonstrate substantial improvements in service delivery, with trains now running every ten minutes throughout the day. The system completes over 90 trips daily, significantly reducing travel times for commuters along the Marina to Mile 2 corridor.
