PDP Issues Formal Certificate of Expulsion to Ezenwo Nyesom Wike

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially issued a Certificate of Expulsion to the former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, effectively ending his membership in the party.

The certificate, dated December 2, 2025, was released by the party’s National Secretariat following a unanimous resolution adopted by delegates at the 2025 PDP National Convention held on November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to the document, Wike was found to have violated several provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), including Article 10(6), Sections 33(1), (2), (5)(i) & 58(1)(b), (c), (f), (i), (j), (l), and Section 59(1)(g).

The Certificate of Expulsion was jointly signed by the National Chairman, H.E. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, and the National Secretary, H.E. Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, and bears the official seal of the party.

The expulsion marks the culmination of a prolonged rift between Wike and the PDP leadership, which intensified after he accepted a ministerial position in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration and openly backed certain APC interests in recent elections.

As at press time, Barr. Wike has not released any official statement in response to the issuance of the Certificate of Expulsion.
