Nokia has named Pallavi Mahajan, a former Intel AI executive, as its new chief technology and AI officer. She would lead the Technology and AI Organisation (TAO) unit, one of two new business units created by Nokia to sharpen its focus on AI innovation and business development.
Nokia’s Technology and AI Organisation (TAO)
Nokia’s new Technology and AI Organisation (TAO) unit brings together Nokia Bell Labs, Technology and AI leadership and Group Security teams to strengthen the company’s innovation capabilities.
Mahajan brings a background of cloud, edge computing and AI expertise. She previously served as Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Data Centre and Artificial Intelligence Software at Intel.
She also has significant experience in networks, software and AI, including positions at HPE, where she developed supercomputing programs and led the company’s hybrid cloud strategy, and an earlier position at Juniper Networks, where she worked on self-driving networks.
Nokia’s new Corporate Development Organization (CDO) on the other hand combines Corporate Development, Strategic Partnerships, Mergers and Acquisitions, investment arm NGP Capital and incubation activities to accelerate the company’s strategy execution and business growth.
It will be led by Konstanty Owczarek as chief corporate development officer. He previously served as head of strategy and business development at HPE’s High Performance Compute, AI and Labs business, leading a strategic pivot into generative AI.
