The Nigeria and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has been crowned the best player in Africa for 2024 at the 2024 CAF Awards held in Marakech Morrocco.
Lookman who had a superb season in Atalanta scoring a hat trick in the Europa league final as Atalanta defeated Bayern Leverkusen also had a very good run with Nigeria culminating in a second place finish at the AFCON.
Lookman edged out Achraf Hakimi of Morrocco, Simon Adingra of Ivory coast, serhou Guirrasey of Guinea and Ronwen Williams of South Africa to clinch the award.

This win means a back to back player of the year award for Nigeria after Victor Osimhen took home the award in 2023.
Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie also emerged female goalkeeper f the year while Nigeria’s super Falcons were crowned the female national team of the year.
